When Andrea and Alice contacted me saying they planned to marry at the Sanctuary of San Lucio in Val Cavargna, I was overjoyed.
Since I live in the valley and hold this place close to my heart, I knew that their chosen location was breathtaking, both for the incredible 360-degree view and the church’s stunning frescoes.
The couple opted for a simple ceremony, with just a few guests, and they didn’t want anything too posed or staged in the photos.
So, I focused on capturing the moments as they unfolded, and even in the couple’s portraits, I aimed for the most natural shots possible, while still making sure to place them in the best position for the photos.
The cows grazing nearby were certainly amusing collaborators, giving us with some truly unique photos.
After the ceremony, the reception was held at Capanna San Lucio, where a colorful terrace was set.
Since it was in my “home mountains”, I also took out my accordion and dedicated a short song to the newlyweds, accompanied by an impromptu choir of local villagers.
I’m so grateful to this couple, who, despite not knowing me, entrusted me completely with this special day. I hope this is just the first of many weddings among the beautiful peaks of my beloved Val Cavargna.
